As the world observes the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Epworth community is joining forces to raise awareness and promote a culture of zero tolerance and support for survivors. Various stakeholders, including local organizations, community groups, and individuals, are coming together to organize a range of awareness programs, roadshows, community dialogues, and online campaigns.

At the forefront of these efforts is Miles Audio Solutions, a local media company that has taken up the mantle of raising awareness about GBV through media. According to Project Initiator, Dj Miles, "Media has the power to carry the message of GBV and make a real difference in our community." As part of their campaign, Miles Audio Solutions will be producing podcast sessions, studio and street interviews, online live sessions, and social media campaigns to raise awareness and promote support for survivors.

Other stakeholders are also getting involved, with sporting entities organizing football tournaments, netball, and other sporting disciplines as a means of raising awareness.

On Thursday 28 November 2024, Fathers Against Abuse will host a roadshow to address the often-overlooked issue of GBV against men. "Men are also becoming victims of violence in our societies, and it's essential that we create a safe space for them to share their stories and seek support." Says Admire Shereni , a member of the Epworth community.
