TODDLER DROWNS IN A RUBBISH PIT IN EPWORTH

Tragedy has struck in Epworth, east of Harare, where a 1-year-old baby boy drowned in a waterlogged rubbish pit. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the incident occurred on December 18, 2024, while the toddler's mother was busy with household chores .

The ZRP reported that the baby boy, just 1 year and 4 months old, was playing outside the house near Corner Store, Overspill, Epworth, when the tragic incident happened.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the growing concern of child drownings, especially during the rainy season. As we mourn the loss of this young life, let us also take a moment to reflect on the importance of child safety and supervision.
